How to Make Herbal Aftershave
Lotion
For a refreshing, all-natural tonic that smells and feels great, try making
these herbal aftershave concoctions.
Steps:
1. Place 10 oz. fresh sage leaves, 3 oz. fresh yarrow flowers and 3 oz.
fresh or dried lavender flowers in a 32-oz. jar.
2. Pour grain or rubbing alcohol into the jar, up to two inches below
rim.
3. Shake for about 10 to 20 seconds.
4. Let steep for two weeks. Shake for 10 to 20 seconds, a few times a
day.
5. Strain and dilute with water to desired strength.
6. Apply to face after shaving.
Tips:
For dry skin, add 1 to 2 tbsp. almond oil or glycerin.
Add about 3 oz. eucalyptus leaves, or 3 oz. peppermint leaves, to acquire
a mentholated scent.
Steps:
1. Pour 2 c. witch-hazel extract and 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar into
a large jar.
2. Add 1 oz. dried lavender flowers and 1 oz. dried sage.
3. Shake for 10 to 20 seconds.
4. Let steep for one week. Shake for 10 to 20 seconds a few times a day.
5. Strain.
6. Apply to face after shaving.
Tips:
Witch-hazel extract can be bought at a drugstore; look near the facial
cleansers.
